Role Summary

As an Assistant Engineer - Design, you will assist in designing mechanical systems and components for various industrial sectors, particularly in grain processing, breweries, distilleries, and conveying systems. You will collaborate with the production, purchase, and project coordination teams to deliver detailed, accurate, and practical designs that align with project goals and client requirements.

Key Responsibilities

- Assist in designing mechanical systems using SolidWorks and AutoCAD, including layouts, fabrication drawings, assembly drawings, and BOMs.
- Support in developing flow diagrams, P&IDs, plant layouts, and structural frames for grain and brewery projects.
- Help create 3D models and animations for design validation and client presentations.
- Ensure designs align with project requirements, space constraints, and installation feasibility.
- Coordinate with the production team to resolve manufacturability and assembly concerns.
- Update and manage engineering data in Odoo ERP, including BOMs and MO readiness.
- Support quotation preparation by providing preliminary drawings and technical inputs.
- Assist in preparing as-built drawings, zoning documents, and other site-specific details.
- Collaborate with other engineers to continuously improve design quality and project delivery.

Required Skills & Qualifications

- B.E./ B.Tech /Diploma in Mechanical Engineering or related discipline.
- Familiarity with SolidWorks, AutoCAD, and design best practices.
- Basic understanding of fabrication processes, sheet metal development, and machining.
- Ability to read and develop technical documentation (BOMs, P&IDs, GA drawings).
- Strong communication, documentation, and coordination skills.
- Willingness to visit sites for measurements or installation support as needed.

Job Summary:

The Site Engineer is tasked with managing the installation, commissioning, and maintenance of mechanical equipment in rice processing, brewery, and distillery plants. This position demands technical proficiency in machinery setup, alignment, and troubleshooting, ensuring projects are executed smoothly while adhering to quality and safety standards.

Key Responsibilities:

Machine Installation & Commissioning:

  • Oversee and implement the installation of machinery for rice mills, breweries, and distilleries.
  • Ensure the correct alignment, calibration, and functionality of mechanical equipment.
  • Interpret technical drawings, P&IDs, and manufacturer manuals for precise execution.
  • Conduct trial runs and performance validation before project handover.

Site Supervision & Quality Control:

  • Supervise on-site mechanical activities, ensuring adherence to project plans and timelines.
  • Perform regular inspections and quality checks to ensure installation accuracy.
  • Enforce safety protocols and regulatory requirements during on-site execution.

Troubleshooting & Technical Support:

  • Diagnose and resolve technical issues during installation and commissioning.
  • Collaborate with the design team and vendors to address modifications or improvements.
  • Provide training and guidance to on-site teams and operators for seamless machine operation.

Coordination & Reporting:

  • Collaborate closely with clients, vendors, and internal teams for project execution.
  • Maintain documentation of installation progress, test results, and compliance records.
  • Provide regular updates to project managers regarding milestones, challenges, and solutions.

Qualifications & Skills:

  • Bachelor’s degree / Diploma in Mechanical Engineering or related field.
  • Experience in managing machinery installation in rice mills, breweries, or distilleries.
  • Strong understanding of mechanical systems, piping, and industrial automation.
  • Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and process flow diagrams.
  • Excellent problem-solving, coordination, and communication skills.
  • Willingness to travel and work on-site as required.
  • Languages: Hindi, English.

Working Conditions:

  • Predominantly on-site work in industrial plant environments.
